clomid side effects

Tonight is my 5th and last dose of clomid 100mg. I think I have been pretty lucky with not having to many side effects. On Sunday and Monday I could really feel my left ovary. I kept getting big twinges. I have not felt either ovary in over 2 years! Its kinda crazy and interesting. All of this totally fascinates me. I can't wait to see the follies!

I have had 1 other side effect. I am EXTREMELY emotional! I felt a little short tempered on Monday and I spent most of last night and this morning crying and I have no idea why! I can't figure it out. I don't like not knowing why I am crying.

Hopefully nothing new will show up between now and Saturdays US and blood work.

What side effects has everyone else had on clomid?

  1. Oh clomid is evil, just evil!  I had a lot of ovary pain, severe nausea, and headaches with my clomid.  But I guess if it gets the job done then it's working!

  2. LOL!  I call it the clomid crankies.  I turn into a real b*tch when I'm on the clomid.

  5. O how fertility drugs change the mind.  With our last IVF cycle I was watching dancing with the stars (which I have never tuned into) and all of a sudden burst into tears.  The dude was laughing so hard at me and I couldn't help but laugh at myself cause seriously dancing with the stars is not tear worthy!

How exciting for you to almost in the middle of your cycle!  Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

  6. Oh, the fun I had with Clomid! I wish you better luck than I had. My worst side-effects (mostly emotional) came after ovulation. Let's just say that my employees and my hubby were really glad when I stopped Clomid for a while! I really feel for them if we ever get to try treatment again! I get similar side-effects with Provera, which is why the doc changed me to Aygestin. Good luck! I hope you have beautiful follies =D

  7. I always wondered if I would know what my ovary feels like.  The time I had a cyst rupture it just felt like exploding pain.  Good luck with the clomid!

  8. I have been meaning to write to you that I am sooo excited for you and this IUI. I've never been on clomid but like all the other drugs, they make you crazy hormonal. Just use it as a time to get in a good cry. :)

  10. LOL! That is crazy. The Hubby and I were watching HIMYM the other night and I kept bursting in to tears and told him how I hate clomid. He asks me if I am sure it's the clomid. I gave him such an evil stare and said yea I have been crying for 2 days straight! Then he shut up.

  12. Oh those cysts are horrible! I can always feel what side a cyst is on, but the most pain is straight down the middle. Sharp pain from behind my belly button straight down out my vag. I hope neither of us get anymore!

  14. Oh no! I guess being emotional is pretty common on Clomid! I was lucky to not have noticed that, but maybe it will come after ovulation. I also didn't feel my ovaries but I wish I did...maybe it's a signal that it's working!

  15. Hot flashes from the start! And by the time I got up to 150 mg they were omg not screwing around anymore hot flashes. And every round I went through grumpy, then sad, then clingy, then back to me two days after I finished up. But I will never, ever mix clomid and metformin again. That was the absolute worst depression ever, and I know me some depression.

  16. I was on both, still on metformin. I didn't feel anything with the metformin alone though. Thank God I didn't get any bad depression, just emotional and grumpy sometimes and I totally get you on the clingy!

  18. Hi =) New follower to your blog (I found you through Lily); just want to wish you luck and stay strong. I'm already extremely emotional about the whole infertility thing, and I haven't even started!

  19. Haven't done clomid but I think the emotional part is normal on any of these meds! It is for me anyway! Best wishes!
